About: Natural Life Ranch

At Natural Life Ranch, we raise our Australian Shepherds the way nature intended—with love, purpose, and holistic care. Our dogs are more than just pets—they’re family, and they are raised as such from the very beginning.

Our story began with a dream. I have always loved the Australian Shepherd breed, and after suffering burns on 30% of my body during a fire on our property, my husband felt strongly that God was calling him to help fulfill that dream. After much research, prayer, and care, we found the perfect family dogs to begin this journey with us.

What sets our program apart is our commitment to natural, ethical, and holistic breeding. As a certified holistic pet practitioner, I use gentle, natural methods to support our dogs’ health—without chemicals, unnecessary medications, or procedures like tail docking or dewclaw removal. Our parent dogs are genetically tested, and our puppies are raised on a raw diet to give them the strongest foundation in life.

We believe dogs deserve to be raised as nature intended: whole, healthy, and deeply bonded with their people.

Each day on the ranch starts with our children helping feed and care for our dogs. They spend their days playing outside together, learning side by side. Our twins are especially involved—they love training and bonding with our dogs, and it’s a joy to watch their connection grow. At night, some of our dogs are tucked into crates, others sleep beside our beds, their hearts slowing as they feel the warmth and comfort of our presence. We believe that closeness—both physical and emotional—is essential, not just for humans, but for dogs too.

We look for adopters who share this vision. Our ideal families are those who love the breed, are open to learning about holistic rearing, and value natural wellness—people who want to avoid excessive vaccinations, routine surgeries, and chemical-based treatments. We stay connected with our puppy families for life, offering guidance and support whenever they need it. To us, every adopter becomes part of our extended family.

If you believe that dogs should be raised with intention, integrity, and love, we invite you to join the Natural Life Ranch family.

What is a Natural Rearing Breeder?

A “natural rearing breeder” is a dog or cat breeder who focuses on raising their animals as close to their natural wild state as possible, prioritizing a raw diet, minimal vaccinations, holistic health practices, and a focus on providing a natural environment to promote optimal health and well-being, rather than relying heavily on commercial pet food and conventional veterinary treatments; essentially, aiming to breed animals with the best possible health by mimicking their ancestral lifestyle.

Key points about natural rearing breeders:

  • Diet:
Primarily feed their animals a raw diet, consisting of uncooked meat, bones, and organs, mirroring what their wild ancestors would eat.
  • Vaccinations:
May opt for a reduced vaccination schedule or use only titer testing to determine the need for vaccinations.

    • • Holistic healthcare:

Utilize alternative therapies like acupuncture, herbal remedies, and aromatherapy alongside conventional veterinary care when necessary.

  • Environmental enrichment:
Provide ample space for exercise, natural stimuli, and opportunities for mental stimulation.
  • Genetic selection:
Carefully choose breeding pairs with a strong health history, focusing on minimizing the risk of inherited diseases.

Why choose a natural rearing breeder:

  • Potential for better health:
By prioritizing a natural lifestyle, these breeders aim to raise dogs and cats with fewer health issues compared to those raised on traditional methods.

• • Ethical concerns:
Some people prefer natural rearing practices due to concerns about the potential negative effects of commercial pet food and certain vaccination protocols

Grooming

Most dirt and mud can just brush right off the coat of an Aussie. The coat is low maintenance and very beautiful especially in the sunlight where it shines! To keep it gorgeous weekly brushing will help with tangle, dander and dust. We recommend a large slicker brush which usually does a good job. Smaller brush for puppies and be gentle, this is a bonding experience. Every other week toenail clipping and teeth cleaning should be your grooming routine.

Disco

Stephanie was very responsive and helpful- every step of the process was easy! She gave us lots of information about the puppy, the breed, and tips on how to raise a healthy, happy pup! We were thankful to find a breeder who responsibly breeds and shares the genetic profiles of the parents and keeps the puppies tails and dew claws intact. We especially appreciated that she also went out of her way to bring our puppy out to get exposure to cats before we brought him home and sent us extra photos of their outings. We would definitely adopt a puppy from Stephanie again and recommend her to friends.

Willow

Working with Stephanie was truly a great experience from beginning to end. She was incredibly responsive, patient, and always willing to answer our many questions. Even as experienced dog owners, we really appreciated the thoughtful advice and insights she shared throughout the process. It’s clear that she’s passionate about her dogs and goes above and beyond to ensure they’re placed with the right families. We brought home Willow, a beautiful blue Merle Mini Australian Shepherd with striking multicolored eyes. She’s energetic, fun, and full of personality—exactly what we were hoping for in a puppy. Willow came to us happy, healthy and already comfortable with being handled, which is a testament to the care and attention she received before joining our family. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and would absolutely recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a responsible, knowledgeable, and caring breeder. Her dedication to her dogs and the families they go to really sets her apart.
